Simona De Rosa Lead UX Researcher New York

I work in the space before the roadmap exists.

Strategic and exploratory research — for the moments when there's no brief, no defined user, and no obvious answer.

Simona De Rosa

Finding the opportunity, framing it clearly enough to act on.

At Google, I lead research for company-wide growth initiatives — embedded with strategy directors and design leads to frame hypotheses, run mixed-methods investigations, and bring teams along around insights they were initially resistant to.

Before that, at YouTube, I led the foundational research that shaped the strategic case for short-form video and informed the creation of YouTube Shorts — building the team, the creator panel, and the trusted tester program that made it possible.

My methods are mixed, my thinking is systems-level, and my instinct is always toward clarity over comprehensiveness. I've learned to read an organization as carefully as I read a user.

Helping researchers — primarily women — navigate transitions.

I'm a certified coach and active in Google's internal coaching network. I work with researchers building strategic confidence and navigating a market that often undervalues their skills.

I'm Italian — from Puglia — and food is where I go when I'm not working. I cook, I host, and I love developing recipes that bridge Italian roots with unexpected flavors.
— and yes, I have strong opinions about olive oil.
